Cassidy Announces $46.8 Million for South Louisiana from his Infrastructure Law

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) will grant South Louisiana $46,781,392.00from his Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) in RAISE grants. 

“Investing in our transportation systems moves our economy forward,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding helps repair our roads and build new transit infrastructure making Louisiana an even more desirable place for families and businesses to live and thrive.”

Columbia Port Commission

This grant will provide federal funding for the construction activities for a Truck Parking Facility located near the inland Port of Columbia, Ouachita River, and LA State Highway 165.

Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana

This grant will provide federal funding for the engineering design, environmental compliance, right-of-way, and construction to upgrade and extend approximately 2.5-miles of CC Bel Road.

New Orleans Regional Transit Authority

This grant will provide federal funding for the construction of a Downtown Transit Center (DTC) for the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA)’s bus and streetcar network. 

 Cassidy advocated on behalf of these selected projects.

New Orleans Regional Transit Authority was also awarded $71,439,261.00 in IIJA funding for buses and bus facilities.
