WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) released a statement after voting against President Biden’s debt ceiling deal that would slash defense spending and balloon the national debt over the next decade.
“Our country is drowning in debt. Adding trillions more is unconservative and will worsen the issue,” said Dr. Cassidy. “Despite all the budget gimmicks in this bill, it cuts vital defense spending and barely decreases the debt. I cannot support something this irresponsible.”
