WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) released the following statement after Louisiana attorney, Darrel Papillion, was confirmed to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana by a vote of 59-31. “Darrel Papillion has the experience and temperament to be a good federal judge,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This is to say, whoever comes before his court will be treated fairly by a judge who fully understands the law.” Papillion graduated from LSU Law Center in 1994. He later served as an adjunct law professor at the LSU Law Center for nearly 15 years, the president of the Louisiana State Bar Association, and a fellow for the American College for Trial Lawyers. He is also an active member of his church, St. George Catholic Church, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. ### |
