WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) today announced that Louisiana will receive $2,570,000 from his bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) to strengthen safety measures for large motor carriers. Specifically, the funding will expedite safety screenings and measures as well as support research for crash prevention. The State of Louisiana and Louisiana State University will benefit from this funding.
“Motor carriers are essential to growing Louisiana’s transit economy,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law will help our industries move their products safely and efficiently.”
