Cassidy Announces $1.1 Million in Funding for Louisiana Airports

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) today announced the Department of Transportation (DOT) will grant Louisiana a total of $1,101,788 to improve and modernize several local airports. Specifically, $511,938 will be awarded to the Leesville Airport for additional taxilane construction, $288,900 will be awarded to Acadiana Regional Airport to rehabilitate and add on to the existing taxilane, $117,000 will be awarded to DeQuincy Industrial Airpark for improvements to the concrete and drainage system, $116,450 will be awarded to Jennings Airport for runway rehabilitation, and $67,500 will be awarded to Springhill Airport for runway rehabilitation.  

“Louisiana’s airports have experienced decay due to a lack of funding and multiple natural disasters,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding, along with money from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill, will improve our airports and make our local cities more attractive for opportunity.”
