WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) today voted against democrats’ partisan $3.5 trillion tax and spending spree.
“Democrats’ reckless tax and spending spree is nothing more than sugar-high spending that will send inflation soaring,” said Dr. Cassidy. “There is no real infrastructure in their $3.5 trillion spending extravaganza, just a liberal wish list that will bankrupt our country.”
Background:
Cassidy has been working with a bipartisan group of senators for months to craft a hard infrastructure bill, called the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which passed the Senate yesterday, to address Louisiana’s critical need for new roads and bridges. Cassidy has consistently opposed Democrats’ unrelated reconciliation effort since the start.
