Cassidy: Lake Charles Citgo Employee Released from Venezuelan Prison

WASHINGTONU.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) today announced that six Americans imprisoned in Venezuela, known as the “Citgo 6,” have been released from prison and entered into house arrest. Among those released is Lake Charles resident Tomeu Vadell.

“We want him back in the United States. We want him back with his family, but I’m glad for this first step. We’ll celebrate when we finish this story,” said. Dr. Cassidy.

Cassidy has been actively involved in trying to free Vadell. Since the group’s arrest in November 2017, Cassidy has been in regular contact with the Vadell family, the State Department, and other intermediaries working on a solution and a way to bring them home.
