Baton Rouge—U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) today announced the 11 students who received his nomination to one of America’s Service Academies and have accepted appointments. These students will enter the Class of 2023 at the U.S. Military, Naval, Air Force and Merchant Marine Academies. Upon graduation, they will become commissioned officers in the Armed Forces.
To attend a service academy, a student must obtain a nomination, most of which are provided by members of Congress. Students can apply to attend a service academy in their senior year of high school.
“We thank these men and women who are dedicating themselves to defending our country and for their parents who shaped their values of patriotism and dedication to service,” said Dr. Cassidy.
