WASHINGTON—U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA), released the following statement after Senate Democrats blocked a bill to fund our military for a full year:
“The lack of a long-term defense budget has hamstrung our military’s readiness, training and planning, but Washington Democrats led by Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi have repeatedly held funding for our troops hostage because they want to jack up wasteful government spending,” said Dr. Cassidy. “The House has passed a full year of defense funding four times, and Senate Democrats should stop blocking the bill from moving forward.”
