WASHINGTON—Today, Kenneth Polite announced his resignation as the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana, effective March 24, 2017. US Senators Bill Cassidy, MD (R-LA) and John Kennedy (R-LA) released the following statements on Polite’s stepping down.
“I thank US Attorney Polite for his service representing the United States Justice Department in the state of Louisiana and will work with Senator Kennedy and the Trump administration to appoint and confirm his replacement without delay,” said Senator Cassidy.
“I thank Kenneth Polite for his service and dedication, and look forward to working with my colleague Sen. Cassidy and President Trump to appoint a new U.S. Attorney who will work with men and women in law enforcement and uphold the rule of law in our state,” said John Kennedy. |
