WASHINGTON— U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. released the following statement after House Speaker John Boehner announced he would retire at the end of October:
“The House of Representatives is the People’s House, and Speaker John Boehner embodied what the People’s Speaker should be. He worked across party lines to get things done. He fought back against an administration whose policies hurt Louisiana families. He listened to and respected those who disagreed with him, including myself at times. May God bless him and his family, I wish them the best of luck.”
