WASHINGTON— U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) released the following statement after the Obama administration released its latest set of Clean Power Plan mandates:
“Workers in the energy and manufacturing industries have good paying jobs with good health benefits—today’s mandates threaten these jobs. The loss of these jobs will worsen their health and diminish their futures. The Obama administration’s refusal to recognize this, all for the sake of possibly improving CO2 emissions by at most a fraction of a percent, is shortsighted and unfair to workers. Putting forward realistic goals that protect these workers should be the priority.”
