WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced Louisiana will receive $16,629,396.00 from the U.S. Department of Transportation to improve bus transportation. SporTran Transit will receive $11,169,846.00 to replace diesel-powered buses in its fleet, and Jefferson Parish Transit will receive $5,459,550.00 to replace aging diesel vehicles.
“Improving the reliability and efficiency of our public transportation betters the lives of working Louisianans,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This investment is another way the Infrastructure Law allows us to build an economy for 2050.”
