Cassidy Announces $18.7 Million in Disaster Relief

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) today announced the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) will grant Louisiana a total of $18,743,619 in relief as a result of Hurricanes Laura and Ida. Specifically, this grant will help repair critical highway infrastructure that was damaged in the storms. This funding comes from the DOT’s Emergency Relief Program in fiscal year 2022.

“We still see the scars from Hurricanes Laura and Ida,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding, along with money from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, will repair our highways to improve commutes and expedite future evacuation efforts.”
