Cassidy Announces $6.9 Million for Hurricane Laura Relief, Flood Mitigation

WASHINGTON –U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced that Louisiana will receive $6,875,055.82 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The Lake Charles Harbor and Terminal District will receive $4,749,380.82 for management costs as a result of Hurricane Laura. Livingston Parish will receive $2,125,675.00 for the elevation of seven properties.

“Ensuring our portsand coastalcommunities are resilient to flooding makes our state stronger,”said Dr. Cassidy.“This funding benefits Louisiana’s economy and future.”
