Cassidy Announces $7.2 Million in Grants for Hurricane Laura Relief

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) today announced the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will grant $7,152,113.88 to two local authorities as reimbursement for debris removal after Hurricane Laura. The Winn Parish Police Jury will receive $1,649,319.52 and the Sabine River Authority will receive $5,502,794.36.

“People in southwest Louisiana have been recovering from Hurricane Laura for too long, and the White House needs to do more,” said Dr. Cassidy. “Lake Charles and southwest Louisiana need real help. This funding is important, but we will continue to work to make sure our communities receive what it takes for a strong recovery.”
