WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) today announced the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is awarding $9,481,337 in federal funding to the cities of New Orleans and Baton Rouge for HIV/Aids emergency care and relief.
“New Orleans and Baton Rouge residents have suffered from the effects of HIV for decades,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding helps address the HIV epidemic and delivers quality care to low-income families in need.”
The city of New Orleans is receiving $6,029,527 to provide comprehensive HIV/AIDS care for low-income individuals and families living with HIV.
The city of Baton Rouge is receiving $3,451,810 as part of the Ryan White Part A HIV Emergency Relief Grant Program to improve the quality, availability and management of health care and supportive services for individuals and families affected by HIV disease.
