WASHINGTON–U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) released a statement following the confirmation of President Trump’s appointment to the Board of Directors of the Legal Services Corporation (LSC), Frank Neuner Jr. The LSC is the nation’s single largest provider of legal assistance grants for low-income Americans.
“Congratulations to Frank Neuner Jr. on his confirmation to the Board of Directors of the Legal Services Corporation. Thanks to his hard work and passion for his community, low-income folks of America, especially in Louisiana, are ensured access to legal services,” said Dr. Cassidy. “He is an excellent choice for the position, and I was glad to vote for his confirmation.”
Neuner received his bachelor’s and a law degree from Louisiana State University and now is the managing partner of Neuner, Pate in Lafayette. Neuner served as chair of the Louisiana Public Defender Board from 2008 to 2013. During that time, he led the effort to create legislation to increase access to defense counsel for low-income individuals.
