WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) today voted to acquit President Donald Trump, who will remain the president after a majority of senators voted not-guilty on both articles. Cassidy released the following statement after the trial concluded:
“I voted to acquit. Congress must now work together to solve the issues concerning Americans, like lowering the cost of medication and ending surprise medical billing,” said Dr. Cassidy.
Cassidy delivered a speech on the Senate floor yesterday detailing his reasoning for voting to acquit.
