WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) and Tom Cotton (R-AR) released the following statements after the Senate passed a resolution reaffirming American support for Israel:
“Those in power must understand the weight of their words. Israel is not a racist state nor should be implied otherwise,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This resolution sends a clear message that anti-Semitism has no place in Congress or our country and it must be condemned.”
“I’m pleased that a bipartisan group of my colleagues supported this resolution upholding that Israel is not a racist state, that Congress rejects any form of antisemitism, and that America will always be a staunch supporter of Israel. It is unfortunate that Democrat attacks on Israel necessitated Congress passing this legislation,” said Senator Cotton.
