Cassidy Announces $15 Million for Louisiana in Hurricane Laura Relief

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced that the Jefferson Davis Electric Cooperative will receive $15,237,578.95 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) as a result of Hurricane Laura. This grant will provide federal funding for repairs to damaged facilities within their power distribution and transmission system.

“When a hurricane hits, electric companies and linemen are some of the first to respond,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding will help Southwest Louisiana communities as they continue to rebuild.”
