WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced Louisiana will receive $24,078,966.14 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in Hurricane Laura relief.
“Louisiana has shown remarkable resilience while recovering from Hurricane Laura,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding is a significant step towards restoring McNeese University and the surrounding communities of Southwest Louisiana.”

$6,162,038.41 | Office of Risk Management | This grant will provide federal funding for permanent restoration work to McNeese University – Quadrant D building as a result of Hurricane Laura. |
$12,825,812.80 | Cameron School Board Office | This grant will provide federal funding for replacement of the South Cameron High School Gymnasium as a result of Hurricane Laura. |
$3,944,437.65 | Office of Risk Management | This grant will provide federal funding for repairs to the main campus of McNeese University as a result of damages incurred during Hurricane Laura. |
$1,146,677.28 | City of Lake Charles | This grant will provide federal funding for damages to Buddy Prejean Park as a result of Hurricane Laura. |
