WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced Louisiana will receive $24,486,053.40 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for Hurricanes Laura and Ida relief. Jefferson Davis Electric Co-Op Inc. will receive $22,385,252.70 for permanent restoration to a damaged 138 kV transmission system as a result of Hurricane Laura. The Jefferson Parish Public School System will receive $2,100,800.70 for architectural and engineering services as result of Hurricane Ida.
“Although our communities are still recovering from these hurricanes, they have shown persistence over the years,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding will help rebuild and increase preparedness for future disasters.”
