WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced Louisiana schools will receive $3,039,453.84 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in Hurricane Ida relief. The Jefferson Parish Public School System will receive $1,073,424.78 for permanent work on Joshua Butler Elementary. The Office of Risk Management will receive $1,966,029.06 for campus-wide remediation at the Delgado Community College.
“From elementary to higher education, schools are a crucial part of our community,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding will help our local schools recover from Hurricane Ida and uplift our communities.”
