WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced the Department of Transportation will grant Morgan City Harbor and Terminal District $3,320,00.00 in Maritime Administration (MARAD) FY23 Marine Highway Grants from his Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). The funding will be used for the procurement, delivery, and assembly of cargo transloading equipment.
“Improving Louisiana’s marine highway transportation services is critical to building an economy for 2025,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding will help connect the Port of Morgan City with ports in central and northern Louisiana along the Atchafalaya and Red River.”
