WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) today announced the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will grant the South Lafourche Levee District and the Louisiana Office of Risk Management a total of $3,764,581.01 for Hurricanes Laura and Delta relief. The South Lafourche Levee District will receive $2,047,631.76 as reimbursement for flood mitigation measures taken before Hurricane Delta. The Louisiana Office of Risk Management will receive $1,716,949.25 as reimbursement for tarps and water damage repairs for damage sustained at SOWELA Technical Community College during Hurricane Laura after Hurricane Laura.
“This is crucial help southern Louisiana needs to fully bounce back from Laura and Delta,” said Dr. Cassidy. “These grants heal some of the scars left by those hurricanes on our communities, but there still is work to do.”
