WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced Louisiana will receive $4,775,507.00 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for generator projects in St. Bernard Parish as a result of Hurricane Ida. The grants will fund the purchase, installation, and management of 18 permanent generators to provide backup power for critical facilities to allow for continuity of services and support recovery efforts after natural disasters.
“Putting precautions in place is the best way to prevent future devastation,” said Dr. Cassidy. “These generators will help St. Bernard Parish keep the lights on and prepare for the next storm.”
