Cassidy Announces $44.4 Million in Disaster, COVID Relief

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) today announced the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will grant Louisiana a total of $44,430,971.59 in relief for COVID, the Severe Winter Storm of 2021, and Hurricanes Katrina, Laura, Ida, and Zeta. Specifically, this funding will help the New Orleans Sewerage & Water Board, Children’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital – New Orleans East, Louisiana Department of Transportation & Development – District 3, Louisiana Department of Transportation & Development – District 7, Cameron Parish, Terrebonne Levee and Conservation District, Southwest Louisiana Hospital Association, East Baton Rouge Parish, Terrebonne Parish School Board- Remediation, and the Plaquemines Parish School Board.

“This funding is important for Louisiana communities and families impacted by COVID and natural disasters,” said Dr. Cassidy. “We’ve endured a lot, but we will rebuild.”
