Cassidy Announces $4.5 Million for Lake Charles Hurricane Relief

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) today announced the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will grant the City of Lake Charles and the Southwest Louisiana Electric Membership Corp. $4,507,836.76 for Hurricanes Laura and Delta relief. Lake Charles will receive $2,282,144.81 as reimbursement for emergency response measures, including search and rescue missions, in the wake of Hurricane Laura. The Southwest Louisiana Electric Membership Corp. will receive $2,225,691.95 as reimbursement for electrical grid repairs after Hurricane Delta.

“First responders and lineman risked their lives helping their communities after these disastrous storms,” said Dr. Cassidy. “These grants ensure southwest Louisiana can continue to recover.”
