WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced Louisiana will receive $4,460,682.29 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in severe weather relief. The city of Alexandria will receive $3,014,539.17 for citywide electrical system damage as a result of Hurricane Laura. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development will receive $1,446,143.12 for emergency protective measures as a result of severe winter storms.
“Louisiana is stronger than any hurricane or winter storm,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding will help with continued repairs from past weather events and ensure we are prepared for future ones.”
