Cassidy Announces $6.5 Million for Emergency Preparedness

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced Louisiana will receive $6,516,901.30 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for flood mitigation and emergency preparedness.

“Preparing for the next storm is always top of mind, but especially so in the middle of hurricane season,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding lowers Louisiana’s risk of flooding and makes our communities more resilient moving forward.”

Governor’s Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness

This grant will provide federal funding for managing HMGP applications and projects submitted to the State through the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness.
