WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) today announced the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will grant the State of Louisiana a total of $66,741,745.13 for COVID-19 relief and Hurricanes Ida and Laura relief. The Louisiana Housing Finance Agency will receive $27,725,684.13 for pandemic relief, Jefferson Parish will receive $33,697,276.75 in reimbursement for Hurricane Ida relief, and St. Charles Parish will receive $5,318,784.25 in reimbursement for Hurricane Laura relief.
“Louisiana has been hit by disaster after disaster, but families in our state are strong,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding has been slow to come, but is welcome. There is still more work to fully recover.”
