WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced Louisiana will receive $7,587,832.83 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in Hurricanes Laura and Ida relief. The Office of Risk Management will receive $4,020,822.90 for permanent repairs to Grand Chenier water control structures as a result of Hurricane Laura and $3,567,009.93 for permanent repairs to Southeastern Louisiana University buildings as a result of Hurricane Ida.
“Louisiana families still feel the effects of Hurricanes Laura and Ida, but our communities are resilient,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding will help South Louisiana continue to rebuild and prepare for future storms.”
