WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) today announced $6,860,764 in two grants to improve medical services in Louisiana. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) granted $4,217,650 for overdose surveillance and prevention to the Louisiana Department of Health. HHS also granted $2,643,114 for graduate medical education at Children’s Hospital in New Orleans.
“With overdoses on the rise, this is a crucial step in saving Louisiana lives,” said Dr. Cassidy.
“Our priority should be having the best doctors for our children. This grant helps accomplish that goal,” continued Dr. Cassidy.
