Cassidy Announces $7.5 Million For Roads, Drainage Improvements

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) today announced the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will grant Louisiana a total of $7,501,483.50 for road and drainage improvements. Southern University will receive $3,331,783.50, Livingston Parish will receive $3,033,100.00, and East Baton Rouge Parish will receive $1,136,600.00.

“We need to reinvest in our roads and sewer systems to prepare them for the next storm,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This grant will help modernize our state.”

Grant Awarded	Recipient	Project Description
$3,331,783.50	Southern University	This grant will provide federal funding for road improvements around Southern University.
$3,033,100.00	Livingston Parish	This grant will provide federal funding for drainage improvements in Livingston Parish.
$1,136,600.00	East Baton Rouge Parish	This grant will provide federal funding for new roads, gutters, and storm sewer systems in East Baton Rouge Parish.
