WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will grant Louisiana a total of $9,000,000.00 to improve local airports from his Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).
The Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport will receive $7,000,000.00 for construction of the North/South Connector Road’s north phase. This project will directly connect passengers between the airport’s terminals and link the terminals to the airport’s upcoming passenger rail service facility. The Shreveport Airport Authority will receive $2,000,000.00 for the construction of new terminal gate space.
“Airports drive economic growth at home and are the first impression our state makes to visitors,” said Dr. Cassidy. “Thanks to funding from the Infrastructure Law, airport improvements for New Orleans and Shreveport will benefit locals, businesses, and tourists alike.”
