WASHINGTON— U.S. Senators Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA), a member of the Senate Finance Committee, released the following statement after the White House sent a message to Congress, pursuant to the Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act, requesting the rescission of more than $15 billion in federal spending.
“I voted against the spending deal because it spends too much and increases the debt,” said Dr. Cassidy. “I’m glad President Trump is working to save taxpayers money by cutting billions in wasteful spending. Recovering unspent dollars from previous years is an obvious solution.”
