“…Fighting to increase onshore and offshore energy production, and I won’t stop…”

WASHINGTON— U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) and the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee released a video highlighting the importance of Louisiana’s energy industry to families and businesses across the U.S.

Dr. Cassidy called for increased domestic energy production in Louisiana and across America by taking advantage of America’s national resources both onshore and offshore. Yesterday, he introduced legislation to expand offshore energy production and increase the amount of revenue Louisiana can receive to protect its coast. “…Families and businesses in Louisiana and everywhere across our country depend upon Louisiana’s natural gas and oil to put gasoline in their trucks, to keep their homes lit, and to keep the price of gas and groceries down.

“Importantly, good paying jobs across the country are created because of Louisiana’s energy industry….

“…I have been fighting to increase onshore and offshore energy production, and I won’t stop doing so.

“Our goal should be to grow production, and to increase Gulf States’ share of revenue from the offshore production promised under the Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act, which is also called GOMESA. This money is dedicated to preserving and building back our coastline and it must be protected.”
