Today, US Senator Bill Cassidy, MD (R-LA) released a statement on President Trump’s nomination of Brandon Fremin to be the next US Attorney for the Middle District of Louisiana. The Middle District appointee oversees nine parishes and is based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
“Brandon Fremin is an excellent choice to serve as US Attorney for the Middle District of Louisiana. Brandon served his country as a marine, I anticipate him taking the same intensity to this job.” said Dr. Cassidy. “He will serve our state well and I look forward to securing his confirmation in the Senate.”
Fremin is currently the Louisiana Department of Justice, Criminal Division Director. Before that, Fremin served as the Judicial District Court Section Chief for East Baton Rouge Parish, Assistant US Attorney for the Middle District of Louisiana and Assistant District Attorney for East Baton Rouge Parish.
Fremin earned his bachelor’s in Criminal Justice from Southeastern Louisiana University and his law degree from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at LSU. Fremin is a member of the Louisiana State Bar and also served in the United States Marine Corps from 1994-2002 where he earned the rank of Sergeant.
