WASHINGTON— US Senator Bill Cassidy, MD (R-LA) released the following statement ahead of the US Senate votes on legislation to keep guns out of the hands of terrorists:
“Gun control will not stop terrorism, to suggest otherwise is to misunderstand terrorism. If we begin taking away constitutional rights from law-abiding citizens, terrorism wins.”
Dr. Cassidy previously said he will support the amendments introduced by conservative Senators Cornyn and Grassley, both of which respect the second amendment and due process. |
