WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) will meet with President Donald Trump at the White House tomorrow with a group of senators to discuss possible changes to the Renewable Fuel Standard.
Increasing the amount of renewable fuel that is required to be blended into gasoline will increase compliance costs for Louisiana refiners.
“Refineries employ thousands of energy workers in Louisiana, and increasing their compliance costs will put jobs in jeopardy. Thanks to President Trump for agreeing to meet and discuss this issue together,” said Dr. Cassidy.
