BATON ROUGE — U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. will join U.S. Senator David Vitter, Representative Garret Graves and Representative Cedric Richmond to host Service Academy Day on Saturday, September 12, 2015. The Congressmen have invited representatives from the Military, Air Force, Naval, Merchant Marine, and Coast Guard Academies to participate. Representatives will be on hand to explain the nomination process to potential applicants and the requirements for applying to each academy.
“Service Academy Day is a chance for students and parents to learn more about our nation’s service academies,” said Sen. Cassidy. “I want to thank students for their interest in military service and parents for providing an example of service to their children.”
“Our military academies train and cultivate our nation’s future leaders, I am proud to host Service Academy Day with Sen. Cassidy and Rep. Graves and Rep. Richmond as this is an excellent opportunity for students, their families to learn more about the academies,” said Sen. Vitter.
“Our service academies provide our young men and women a top notch education and prepare them to be our nation’s future leaders,” said Rep. Richmond. “Introducing students to the academies early on gives them the best opportunity to learn about the nomination process with their families and decide if it is right for them.”
Service Academy Day is free and open to the public. All high school students and their parents are welcome to attend. Students who are unable to attend can contact Sen. Cassidy’s office at (225) 929-7711 for more information on the application process. |
